Lolita is an unsettling novel about a legit pedophile named Humbert Humbert. The man cultivates an obsession for “nymphettes,” or young, attractive girls between the ages of 11 – 13. He falls desperately in love with a twelve-year-old girl named Lolita, and marries her mother just to get closer to the daughter. When the mother dies, Humbert becomes Lolita’s sole caretaker and… you can guess where it goes from there. This controversial book was strange, but thankfully not graphic. Lolita is tough, and despite everything, she turns out just fine. Humbert, on the other hand… well, the man’s got serious probs.
