Book Review: Inkheart by Cornelia Funke

inkheartInkheart is a fun, lighthearted YA fantasy by Cornelia Funke. The story is about a girl named Meggie and her father. Her father, a book conservationist, has a magnificent yet dangerous talent: anything he reads comes to life! Many years ago, this led to the villains of one novel capturing Meggie’s mother, and imprisoning her within their story. When Meggie comes of age, she, her father, and her great-aunt set out to rescue Meggie’s mother from the book. A very original idea and one that worked well on paper and film.
